So remember when I said that the Grimes touchdown reversal was such a bad call that it bordered on suspicious? Then, when the PAC-10 head of officiating described the review, which was supposed to be based on indisputable evidence, as a "judgement call," I began to wonder if something more sinister was going on. Of course, I disclaimed my conspiracy theory with the following:

"I’m not the type of crackpot to accuse refs of cheating after a bad call, like the entire Michigan fanbase does regularly, but how else do you explain that call?"

And:

"Now, I realize that I'm venturing into paranoid-Michigan-fan territory here, but how is this anything but blatantly suspicious?"

Well, our old friend Brian at MGoBlog has once again proven that he is the most stereotypical Michigan homer of all time. Earlier today, he posted a conspiracy theory that even Michigan fans must be scratching their heads over. He believes that Miles wanted to coach at Michigan, but Kirk Herbstreit's ESPN announcement forced him to stay at LSU. Oh, and it gets better. Much better. Brian also believes that Ohio State coach Jim Tressell fed Herbstreit the false information regarding Miles' future at Michigan in order to sabotage UM's coaching search. Hold on to your tinfoil hats as we delve into the madness that is MGoBlog…

"Everyone near the program knew Miles wanted the job more than anything. He loves the program… [T]he Herbstreit report will be the fan equivalent of the Kennedy assassination. Who told him?... There are two main theories on the leak: Desmond Howard, his ESPN co-worker and a member of the search committee, and Jim Tressel. Howard obviously has a vested interest in not telling Herbstreit anything. Tressel, OTOH, is interesting: that move would be the Machiavellian genius I now, sadly, expect from Tressel whenever Michigan blunders into his path."

Brian has obviously lost his mind. Everyone knows that Les Miles is really an alien who escaped from Area 51 and his human skin suit will degenerate in the cold weather if he moves to Ann Arbor. Herbstreit, being a cybernetic assassin from the year 3000, knows this and was instructed by John Connor to release the faulty information in an attempt to prevent the apocalypse. Tressell wasn't even involved!
