The Good...
- You can save replays! This upgrade has been a long time coming, and is easily my favorite new feature.
- The graphics are outstanding. It’s the only game I’m aware of that supports full 1080P resolution, and it looks fantastic. There are tons of new animations that make the whole experience a lot more realistic.
- Recruiting has been totally revamped, and is now a lot more in-depth.
- Many more plays to choose from, including some fun trick plays.
The Bad...
- Playing against the computer is pretty lame because the difficulty settings are still horrible. Set it to All-American Mode and you’ll win every game 165 – 7, and those 7 came when you fell asleep from boredom, thumb on the dive button, resulting in all of your players hitting the deck and a 95 yard punt return for the opposition. Set it to Heisman Mode and Navy’s 5’3” wide receiver will inexplicably break 11 tackles every single play and you’ll probably pop a blood vessel in anger. There’s absolutely no middle ground.
- The new play selection scene is retarded. You have to highlight the play you’re selecting, and it’s impossible to not notice your opponent’s play when your selection screen is adjacent to his. There is a way to disguise your play by pretending to select another play in the same formation, but it’s annoying to have to think about that every single time. Last year’s method worked just fine, and there was no reason to change it.
- No Lee Corso, I don’t want to ask you what play I should select. If you knew which plays to select, you wouldn’t have been fired from Indiana.
The Meh...
- Gameplay largely unchanged. No “Create-a-Team” feature. No DII schools – RIP Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils. Mini-games are so-so. Load times seem a bit faster.
